Marin

1,609 inhabitants (known as "Maringons")
Surface area: 5.58 km²

Located in the western Evian Country, Marin occupies a verdant slope between the mountains and the Dranse River. Particularly well exposed on the slope bordering the Gavot Plateau to the west and sloping gently downwards to the Dranse, the district of Marin thrived during the Gallo-Roman period.
During this ancient time, villas were built, with the largest thought to have been located in Marinel. Tombs dating from the High Middle Ages have also been discovered at several sites in the area.
